About the Oxford Street Cycleway Proposal

The NSW Government and Council are proposing a cycleway through Oxford Street, Paddington. While we support safer cycling, the current plan poses significant challenges.

Our concerns include:

• Removal of crucial parking that supports local business
• Safety risks at intersections and pedestrian crossings
• Increased congestion and diversion into residential streets
• Insufficient consultation with residents and small business owners

We believe in better solutions:

• Safe cycling lanes that protect riders and pedestrians
• Local business access and loading zones
• Preservation of Paddington’s heritage character
• True collaboration with the community before construction begins
